I'm Sooooo Tired...

Given that I am still in my first trimester, I shouldn't be all that surprised. But NEVER in my entire LIFE--not even when I was pregnant with Little Bit--have I EVER been this tired! I am taking 2, sometimes 3 pretty hefty naps EVERY DAY. I can't get ANYTHING done. I have some precious neighbors who have been helping me get Little Bit to and from school every day, as well as friends who have offered to take her home for a playdate. For that I am ever so grateful. I hope that will at least partly explain why my posts have been so sparse lately.

So given the sleep theme, I'm taking you over to my friend Misty's blog. If you haven't visited her blog before, you will enjoy it. She is one of the sweetest humans to ever grace Planet Earth, and has been a huge encouragement to me during the years of our friendship. She has a condition called Periodic Paralysis where she regularly goes in and out of these little "mini comas", and yet I have never heard her complain. You should get to know her. She's awesome.

The post on her blog that I'm taking you to is about her new mattress. I think you will get a good giggle out of it, and maybe even get some good information. Click here to check it out. If that link doesn't work, copy and paste this: http://made-new.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-mattress.html.

Shauna--isn't she a hoot? She is so much fun and such a love. I am privileged to know her.

Hey Jenster, we are heading to Dallas for a long weekend. I think it's a waste of money, because I'll be spending pretty much the entire time in the hotel room resting, which I can do at home. Oh well...I'll get a LOT of resting and reading done!!! Taking lots of books!!!

How about posting pix of your growing tummy every month, sorta like the famous chix on the magazine covers?? (Tho you could maybe add a little more clothing...)

I remember well the tiredness. For me, it was borderline anemia, and so I had to beef up my iron-rich food sources. I actually craved liver (and I loathe liver) during that time, lol.

Rest while you have the chance! That knitting together of the baby in the womb takes a lot out of moms!

LOL, Barb!

Katy, you are so sweet to send new friends to my blog. I highly recommend the new bed. Oh, wow. I knew I wasn't sleeping well in my former bed, but after having this one for a week and a half I can say it is not hard to talk myself into closing the book on the day. Crawling into bed is an instant hug. The bed we got literally allows you to sink in for another second to two seconds after you lay down. Ahhhh. I might need to go take another nap...

WOW! SO MANY PEOPLE CAME TO SEE ME AND I WASN'T EVEN HERE!!!

Barb, I had actually planned on doing that very thing, but like you suggested...much more clothes. I wouldn't want to scare you all away. You'd be trying to scrub that image from your brain for decades to come. ;-)

Becky, I am slightly anemic (although never so much that I wanted liver...ICK!!!!) and almost had to have a transfusion after Little Bit was born. I was in a bit of a catch-22 situation b/c I needed the extra iron but am very sensitive to too much in my system. So if I took extra it came right back up. Argh. All turned out well, thanks to God and His infinite mercy. And I am resting every chance I get. Just about ready for another nap! :-)

Hoffer, I love you. Thanks for the fun weekend and for letting me get the most of our hotel dollars by spending so much time napping in our room!!! :-)

Jenster, you have something for me?? I LOVE SOMETHING!!!!!

Hey Flowerpot!!! I am so glad to send my cyberspace friends your way. They don't know you like I do, but they should. You are an inspiration. I am coming over to do a test-nap on your bed sometime soon!!! ;-)

Hee, hee. Jenster beat me to it, but I left you the same little something on my blog. Great minds think alike, right? And we obviously both think you're GREAT!

I SAW IT!!! And I am stunned and humbled. Thank you both, sweet girls!

Katybug ~ It helped me with Judah's pregnancy to take a daily Kelp supplement from the health food store. I can't remember the specifics, but it seems like it helps in the proper assimilation of food source iron and other benefits during pregnancy. And liquid chorophyll caps (or the liquid if you can stand a teaspoon a day)are good for helping build up the blood. A smoothie place out here called Juice It Up sells shots (as in shot glasses) of wheatgrass juice, which I took once or twice a week for a long while during my pregnancy. I do believe it helped me energy wise, especially those last couple of months when you feel really sluggish.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tips, Becky! You must remember VEEEEERY WELL how tiresome this can be. There's a smoothie place near our house that I know for sure has wheatgrass juice. Kelp? Hmmm...I may have to build up some courage to do that one. I'll let you know how things work out!!!
